SANCTUARY REFLECTIONS –Rochelle Lamm, Facilitator
Sundays, 11:30am - 12:15pm, Sanctuary
Do you ever leave a Sunday worship service “hungry for more?” Perhaps you are wrestling with some unanswered questions. "Sanctuary Reflections" is an opportunity to reflect on Rev. Rick’s sermon messages, exchange “takeaways” and enrich our religious/spiritual exploration in an organized discussion group.
This is an entirely flexible open forum with no sign-ups or commitments. Join in on Sunday when your interest, curiosity or passion is piqued by the day’s service. The facilitator, Rochelle Lamm, has been a UU for more than 30 years and is an experienced and skilled discussion facilitator.
STARTING POINT - Reid Swanson, Facilitator
A class for people ready to begin, or begin the next leg of, their spiritual journey into Unitarian Universalism. We'll look at the historical journey of our faith tradition, the local journey of our UUCSC church, and reflect on our personal spiritual journeys, where we've come from, where we are, and where we go from here, leading toward a deeper integration into this faith and our community.
HARVEST THE POWER - Facilitated by members of the Nominating Committee and Others
Six Saturdays, 9 AM to Noon Five Saturdays Remaining!
February 1, February 8, February 15, February 22, March 1, March 8
Harvest the Power is a UUA Curriculum written by Gail Forsyth-Vail and published in 2020 as part of the Tapestry of Faith collection. The curriculum begins from the belief that leadership in a congregational setting can and should be a deeply spiritual experience. Six two-hour workshops offer intentional faith development to help form integrated UU leaders who model healthy personal and leadership practices.
THE BIBLE IN ITS OWN WORDS: LUKE and ACTS - Led by Rev. Hoyt-McDaniels
6 Wednesdays, 7 PM to 9 PM
March 5, March 12, March 26, April 2, April 9, April 16 (no class on March 19)
Rev. Hoyt-McDaniels leads a class reading and discussing two important books of the Christian scriptures. The Gospel of Luke tells the story of Jesus' birth, life, and death. In Acts, the same author continues with the story of the apostles organizing the Christian church after Jesus' death. The group will read aloud to each other pausing to discuss what the text may have meant to the author and the original audience and what it has to say to us today. If you cannot attend all six sessions, join us as your schedule permits.
