Barbara Allen

Barbara (she/hers) is a retired Chiropractor.  She moved to the area four years ago from the East Coast to be closer to her adult kids who live in the Valley. She was first drawn to Unitarianism years ago in Northampton, MA where her kids attended the RE program.

Her belief is that “service is our prayer,” which has guided her political activism since the 1970s. She is committed to social justice and her political work is one part of her spiritual life. Barbara continues to march, speak up, teach and advocate for the queer community and other marginalized people. She is a member of “White People 4 Black Lives,” and is grateful for all that she has learned from this LA-based organization.

Barbara is also an avid photographer and her photos grace our website and Sunday services. She loves to hike and is desperately trying to make her two small poodle/terrier mix dogs into hikers– as opposed to dogs that run the other way when she opens the car door with their leash in her hand.
