Pledging & Giving
What is a pledge?
A pledge is a yearly commitment to donate money to the church.
Why does UUCSC ask members and friends to make pledges?
UUCSC is completely self-supporting. The financial health of our spiritual home is determined by the generosity of our members and friends. Almost 55% of all UUCSC expenses are funded through the continuing pledges of our members and friends. It is our goal to see this percentage rise as a measure of our growing financial health.
How do I make a pledge?
As a member or friend of the church, you will be asked to contribute to the Annual Fund Drive prior to the beginning of each fiscal year, which starts on July 1. You may set up recurring payments via PayPal, or through your bank, or pay by check. You will receive quarterly statements and current balance remaining on your pledge.
How do I make a one-time gift?
Simply drop a check with ‘donation’ on the memo line in our offering plate during the Sunday morning service, or submit your gift via PayPal.
What are other ways I can help financially sustain UUCSC?
In addition to the Annual Fund Drive, UUCSC puts on various fund-raising events every year to reach a $15 – 20K goal. We encourage you to participate in our Silent Auction, Music Events such as the Holiday Party and Cabaret, and Inspiration Sunday, when a special appeal is made to meet the goals of our on-going ministry.
How do I donate to the Endowment Fund?
Giving to the UUCSC Endowment is an investment in the financial security and long-term success of the congregation. Each year, half of the Endowment’s dividends are available to underwrite projects or initiatives that enhance our facilities and sustain our programs. To give to UUCSC’s Endowment Fund, simply write “Endowment Fund” on the memo line of your check, and either drop it in the offering plate or mail it to the church office.
