Music
We enjoy music and the sense of community that comes from a common appreciation of it. The UUCSC choir performs every week from Fall through Spring, and a variety of musicians perform other music during the service. Our music is mostly classical and folk, but on occasion features jazz, ragtime, and rock and roll, as well as original compositions by church members. Our hymns range in style from traditional classical, with words modified to correspond with our liturgy, to modern.
The Choir
Make a joyful noise with us! The choir welcomes all people 15 years of age and older who want to join in song and worship. Between September and June, we rehearse Sundays at 9 am before the service and Mondays at 7 pm. The ability to read music is a plus, but is not necessary.
Cabaret
Every spring, we host a Cabaret fundraiser. Members and friends of the church and the choir perform songs ranging from the Beatles to Irish Folk Tunes to Broadway while we enjoy a three-course meal and have a great time.
Concerts
We also host 4-5 evening concerts a year. Past concerts have included the amazing Karen Hart performing songs from her album "Mirabelle," Dawn Bishop with the Sergio Mendez' All-Stars, and the acclaimed jazz band The Yellowjackets.
