NEW! Take a tour of the Big Room!

RE News Jill harrison, RE Director

Dear UU friends,
Prepare to be DELIGHTED!

This Sunday (Father’s Day) we will be celebrating the culmination of our Coming of Age program. We have seven wonderful youth participants this year. If you have not already fallen in love with them, you will when they read their statements of belief at the service! I could not be prouder of each of them. June 15th also marks the end of our regular Sunday School classes. During the summer, there are fewer kids, fewer teachers and more focus on games and water play. Sylvia Nichols, who never needs to recharge and take a break from our children, will continue to show up every week and work her magic. Thank you, Sylvia!

The formal Religious Exploration Program will start back up again September 7th with a bagel brunch and a meet and greet with the teachers. And guess who our teachers are going to be next year? … YOU!

Now don’t freak out, I’m not asking you to stop going to the service for months on end. I’m going to be giving you an opportunity to participate in our program in a very structured and creative way that will feel really good and rewarding. I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but the Religious Exploration Team has been infused with energy lately. We want to share that energy with the rest of the congregation! When Wendy and I went to District Assembly we came away with mountains of ideas about how to extend the joy of participation to all of the adults in our community. Not a heavy burdensome kind of participation, but a delightful, energizing, spiritually fulfilling kind!

Over the summer we will be hosting another FRED (Wasn’t that so much fun!) and this time we will have a conversation about how YOU can become happily involved with our youth program. So keep your eyes peeled for more information about that and I will update you when we get organized.
