Children and Youth

UUCSC currently offers Religious Exploration (RE) programs and childcare every Sunday morning for Toddlers (1 – 2 years), Chalice Children (3 – 6 years), Elementary Kids (7 – 11 years), and Middle School Youth (12 – 14 years). RE programs are also available for Adults (ages 18 and up). To register, please fill out our online-registration form.

At the beginning of each Sunday morning service, children are welcome in the Sanctuary to worship with their families through the end of the Time for All Ages portion of the service. Then the children and youth are asked to exit for their RE classroom time.

Intergenerational Services, when children 7 and older may stay for the entire service, include: Hallows/Day of the Dead, Apple Communion on the Sunday before Thanksgiving, and Illuminations held each January honoring our UU heritage and history.

Service Sunday is every second Sunday and offers an opportunity for the older children to practice the “Service is our prayer” portion of our Covenant. Current projects include making sandwiches for the homeless.

Every Christmas Eve is the No-Rehearsal Christmas Pageant. It starts at 5:00 PM and all children and youth are welcome to participate.
