SpiritUUal Contemporaries Second Sunday of the Month, 7 pm
Who: Adults 30-50ish
Where: The Turning Tides Room
What: Discussion, community, and spiritual practice
Many people are familiar with Erik Erikson's theories of child development, where each life stage has a specific "task" to complete. Many people are not aware that these stages actually continue through adulthood. After the stage of "young adulthood," and before the stage Erikson calls "wisdom," there lies a realm called "middle adulthood." This developmental stage brings with it different joys, crisis, questions, and yearnings, and it is the goal of the Spiritual Contemporaries to join together in a peer group and help each other move through these years with care and support. Each session is lead by a different member covering various topics. This is a time to catch up, work together, and grow your spiritual practice.
PARC (PAuse... Reflect...Connect) A Spiritual Gathering for UU Young Adults Sundays at 7 pm, starting Sunday, October 9
Our young adults group (ages 18-35) meets every Sunday at 7pm in the Sanctuary for a spiritual gathering that celebrates our UU values and community. Our sessions are similar to a covenant group and include focus readings, discussions, and games. We rotate leadership and have different themes from week to week.
PARC is a great way to experience UU worship on a smaller scale. In recent meetings our activities have ranged from discussing ways to help the environment to a close reading of Song of Solomon from the King James Bible.
We host a number of social events where we can get to know each other better and develop a sense of community outside of a church context.

Reading The Bible In Historical, Cultural and Linguistic Context A Discussion Led by Rev. Mike Young Tues at 11:30am & Thu at 7pm, October 4 - January 31
Whether one believes in the Bible or not, it is indispensable for understanding the Western heritage. It often doesn't say what folk think it does. And, read in full historical, cultural and linguistic context, it is often a much more interesting literature.
I'll share what I know, from the best Biblical scholarship available.
Spiritual Practice Group Wednesdays at 7 pm, starting Wednesday, August 17
We come together as a group to provide an opportunity for individuals to explore and deepen their own individual sense of spirituality. We share meditation, poetry, readings, discussion, and other experiences to better understand who we are and how we can enjoy peace and interconnectedness in our lives. The group also offers an opportunity to get to know people better and discover ways to support and value each other more deeply.
We meet Wednesday nights from 7:00 - 8:15 pm in the Sanctuary. The sessions are facilitated by members of the group and occasionally we invite special guests to bring a new perspective to our exploration. We start with a 5 minute centering meditation and end each session with a 15 minute meditation. All are welcome. No experience required!
