Spiritual Practice Group Wednesdays at 7 pm,

We come together as a group to provide an opportunity for individuals to explore and deepen their own individual sense of spirituality. We share meditation, poetry, readings, discussion, and other experiences to better understand who we are and how we can enjoy peace and interconnectedness in our lives. The group also offers an opportunity to get to know people better and discover ways to support and value each other more deeply.
We meet Wednesday nights from 7:00 - 8:15 pm in the Sanctuary. The sessions are facilitated by members of the group and occasionally we invite special guests to bring a new perspective to our exploration. We start with a 5 minute centering meditation and end each session with a 15 minute meditation. All are welcome. No experience required! For more information contact David Marsh at dmarsh@usc.edu or Vickie Vining at Vickie.Vining@gmail.com.

Many people are familiar with Erik Erikson's theories of child development, where each life stage has a specific "task" to complete. Many people are not aware that these stages actually continue through adulthood. After the stage of "young adulthood," and before the stage Erikson calls "wisdom," there lies a realm called "middle adulthood." This developmental stage brings with it different joys, crises, questions, and yearnings, and it is the goal of the SpiritUUal Contemporaries to join together in a peer group and help each other move through these years with care and support. Each session is lead by a different member and covers one of various topics. This is a time to catch up, work together, and grow your spiritual practice.

Calling all Singers! Mon 7pm and Sun 8:45am rehearsals,

Choir rehearsal is every Monday night, 7 - 9 pm, and if you enjoy singing, please come! We have a wonderful group of people who are ready to welcome you to our musical group.
Are you interested in joining the choir but need child care to make the Monday night rehearsals? Are you a confident musician who can only make it to the 8:45am Sunday morning practice? Are these the things that are keeping you from joining our Mighty Choir (which gets Mightier with each passing week)? If so, please contact Leslie Schipa, la.schipa@gmail.com, or other Music Committee members to see how we can better serve you so you can better serve us all.
Studies show that choir singers live longer, happier lives.  Here's your chance!

The Biography of the Bible Tuesdays at 11:30 am or Thursdays at 7pm,  starting Tuesday, May 1

We’re re-starting the Bible discussion group beginning after Easter.  The Bible has a history.  We’ll look at who wrote what when, for whom, and what was going on around them at the time.  As always, we’ll use the best scholarship available to put the texts in historical, cultural and linguistic context.  Homework?  If you want:  The books of Ezra and Nehemiah. (They come after Chronicles and before Esther & Job.)
Whether you’ve come before or not, or ever cracked the book; you are welcome.
